South Bend police are trying to locate Derrick Myles, who is accused of murdering a 16-year-old in South Bend.

On Friday, June 14, at approximately 5:45 p.m., South Bend Police were called to the 500 block of East Victoria Street for a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found 16-year-old Alyyus Enoexpettiford suffering from a gunshot wound.

Enoexpettiford was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Through an investigation by the South Bend Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit, 19-year-old Derrick Myles was identified as a suspect.

Last month, the St. Joseph County District Attorney's Office charged Myles with murder and weapons charges in connection with that killing. Today, the warrant is being released to further facilitate Myles' arrest.

Myles is known to have ties to both South Bend and Chicago.

Myles should be considered armed and dangerous. If you have any information on his whereabouts or see him, do not approach him. Instead, call 9-1-1 for immediate assistance or Michiana Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP to leave an anonymous tip.
