Information sought in shooting in which Danish shop owner was injured

DENMARK, SC (WRDW/WAGT) – Authorities are asking the public for help in investigating a shooting that occurred at a supermarket in Denmark earlier this month.

The shooting occurred after 8 p.m. on August 6 at the Denmark Grocery, 59 Magnolia Ave.

The shop owner was shot and taken to a hospital where his injuries were treated.

No other injuries were reported and nothing was stolen.

The South Carolina Department of Law Enforcement is assisting Denmark Police in the investigation and has released surveillance images from the store.

The shooting occurred in the midst of a Outbreak of violent crime that left more than 170 people dead across the CSRA in just over two years.
