Beyoncé sends Trump campaign cease and desist order

According to British media, Beyoncé has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Donald Trump's presidential campaign team for using her 2016 song “Freedom” in a social media clip posted on Tuesday.

A source said Rolling Stone that the Trump campaign team had not received permission to use the song and that it had been contacted to request that the post in question be removed.

The post was removed on Wednesday afternoon after the superstar's label issued a cease and desist order against the campaign.

The song has been used in Kamala Harris' election campaign for weeks with Beyoncé's permission.

This is just the latest example of a series of musical issues in the Trump campaign, in which he used music without first obtaining permission from several artists.

Two major living artists who asked the campaign not to use their music were Céline Dion and Phil Collins.

The estates of several musicians, including Sinéad O'Connor, Isaac Hayes and Tom Petty, whose music was used without permission, also criticized Trump.

Beyoncé reportedly stayed out of the election, despite supporting Democrats in the past.

However Daily Mail reported that she was considering supporting Harris' campaign after being briefed on Project 2025, a right-wing plan for America supported by Trump.

Beyoncé's mother has already expressed her support for Harris' campaign, posting supportive messages on her social media account last month.
