Darby Township police investigate shooting

Darby Township police and other agencies in eastern Delaware County are searching for a gunman who opened fire on a vehicle in the 1400 block of Noblet Avenue Thursday evening.

According to police radio traffic:

Shortly after 7 p.m. it was initially reported that a gray vehicle in front of a residential building in the block had been shot at.

The shooter was described as a black man wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.

A short time later, according to dispatch reports, a gunshot victim was found nearby in the 1500 block of Newlin Avenue.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

Officers collected video footage from the neighborhood and found cooperative residents. They also discovered shell casings on the block and documented the evidence.
