Man dies weeks after incident in Mustang Ridge, investigation into suspicious death underway

A death investigation is underway in Mustang Ridge after a man succumbed to injuries sustained in a reported physical altercation last month, local authorities said Thursday.

On July 24 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Mustang Ridge Police and Travis County Sheriff's officers responded to a disturbance call at 7013 Bronco Court. Officers found an unconscious 53-year-old man at the scene, who was subsequently transported to St. David's South Austin Medical Center.

The man, whose identity was not disclosed, died on August 18, nearly four weeks after the incident.

The Travis County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy on August 19, with results pending. The Mustang Ridge Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division, with assistance from the Texas Rangers, is investigating the case as a suspicious death.
