Five family members die when car crashes into road divider in Bhojpur

Ara: Five members of a Familyincluding a three-year-old boy, died and three others were injured when the car they were travelling in crashed into a dividing line on Ara-Buxar road in Gajrajganj area of ​​Bhojpur district on Thursday.
The three injured are currently undergoing treatment at Ara Sadar Hospital, said Hari Prasad Sharma, station superintendent of Gajrajganj police station. “The family of a priest was on its way home to Patna's Danapur after going on a pilgrimage to Vindhyavasini Dham in Uttar Pradesh when the accident occurred. The probable reason could be that the driver – the deceased priest's 28-year-old son – might have dozed off,” he said.
According to police, three people died: 56-year-old priest Bhoop Narayan Pathak, his wife Renu Devi (50) and son Vipul Kumar (the driver), while their daughter Arpita (25) and grandson Harsh succumbed to their injuries at Ara Sadar Hospital.
The three injured are Pathak's daughter-in-law Madhu (25), her five-year-old daughter Beli and her cousin Khushi Kumari (15).
An eyewitness, who initially tried to free the trapped passengers from the car, said he was riding his bicycle across the spot and stopped when he saw the trapped people. “With the help of the locals, I managed to free the injured trapped in the car, who the police later took to the hospital,” the eyewitness said.
