‘This is trouble’ – Leeds United fan expert reveals Musaba and Gassama’s fear of Sheffield Wednesday

Leeds United are still searching for their first win of the Championship season and will hope to end that burden on Friday night against Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

On the last weekend before the transfer deadline, Leeds United hope to get their season underway with a thrilling clash against Danny Rohl's Wednesday.

The Whites got off to a slow start with two draws in their first two games, most recently a 0-0 stalemate at the Hawthorns against West Brom.

Meanwhile, “Wednesday” received mixed reviews.

A 4-0 win over Wayne Rooney's Plymouth brought Rohl's men back down to earth following their 4-0 thrashing of Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last Sunday.

Daniel Farke is unlikely to sign any more players before Friday, but journalist Fabrizio Romano suggests that Almeria winger and former Manchester United player Largie Ramazani is close to a signing and could potentially prove to be a replacement for Crysencio Summerville.

“There is trouble – Leeds claim they are facing potential danger ahead of Wednesday’s game

Danny Rohl

FLW's Leeds United fan expert Chris Smith has indicated that his team will have to watch out for dangers at Hillsborough on Friday night.

He said: “My first thought is not the players, but rather the coach, who strikes me in terms of his tactical cleverness compared to Farke. The question has arisen as to whether he can compete against coaches like Danny Rohl.”

“Rohl has really got some of his players going and the two that immediately catch my eye are the two wingers Djeidi Gassama and Anthony Musaba. I think Wednesday will really cause us problems there.”

“That's been pretty obvious so far. Adding Jayden Bogle to our team and having Junior Firpo on the other side makes us good up front but leaves us looking very vulnerable at the back.

“When you play against Wednesday, who have two wingers who know how to exploit the space behind them, you're going to have trouble.

“I think Wednesday are a team that don't like being put under a lot of pressure, as Sunderland proved.”

“However, they also have two capable midfielders in Svante Ingelsson and Barry Bannan who can put Leeds under pressure quite quickly if we fall behind. And those two wingers will get in our way.”

Leeds are known for their fluid football, where the team presses hard in attack but leaves open spaces at the back.

Wednesday have always performed impressively at home with the atmosphere of Hillsborough and could be a game that suits Wednesday's wingers perfectly.

Against Plymouth, both full-backs were overwhelmed and the same could easily happen to the Leeds full-back duo.

One advantage for Leeds could be the wingers' ability to run back. Musaba on the left is a reliable back-runner, giving Bogle a potentially difficult game. On the other hand, Firpo could use Gassama's lack of defensive effort to his advantage.

The Wednesday duo actually struggled in the 2-0 defeat to the Whites at Hillsborough last season, but with Bogle replacing Tottenham's Archie Gray, it could make for an interesting battle.

However, Firpo himself will have to be on guard in defence as he is already in the sights of Portsmouth's Callum Lang this season.

Both coaches are already thinking about how to defeat their compatriot and they could keep this situation in the back of their minds.

A close encounter is expected, but Chris said that it may not be a player scenario, but rather a tactical battle between Rohl and Farke.
