The deceased was identified as Sourabh, who lived with his family at Vivekanand Camp in the same area, Delhi Police said.

Sourabh and some of his friends were playing in the rain on the flooded road near the British School when he accidentally walked into the deep water and drowned, police sources said.

The victim's friends notified his family members, who immediately arrived on the scene, pulled him from the water and took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, officials said.

Police said the victim's body had been sent for autopsy and further investigations were underway.

In another incident reported from Delhi's Rohini area on Thursday, August 22, a 50-year-old man was electrocuted on a flooded road.

The victim was electrocuted outside his home on Thursday evening when he came into contact with electricity running across a flooded street, police said.

The victim slipped into the water that had accumulated outside his house in Prem Nagar area and was electrocuted. A rescue team rushed to the scene but the man had already been taken to the hospital where doctors declared him dead, they said.
