Reality star Savannah Chrisley has shared a new little moment between her and her mother, Julie Chrisley, as the family awaits news of their legal battle.

Julie Chrisley remains in custody at FMC (Federal Medical Center) Lexington, Kentucky, serving a seven-year prison sentence after being convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud in 2022.

The reality show's matriarch's conviction was overturned in June by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit after the court found a legal error in calculating her sentence, forcing the lower court to reconsider her sentence.

Although Julie Chrisley requested a virtual re-sentencing, a judge denied her request. She had to travel to Atlanta on September 24 to learn her new sentence.

In the email shared on Savannah Chrisley's Instagram story, the host of the podcast “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley” sent Julie lyrics to “Be Still and Know” by CeCe Winan.

“Sav, thank you for sending this,” Julie Chrisley wrote back. “Love you always, mom.”

Savannah Chrisley speaks out about her parents' treatment in prison

Savannah Chrisley has spoken out about what she believes to be the “inhumane” treatment of her parents following their conviction in 2022.

The reality star appeared at the 2024 Republican National Convention, where she called the Department of Justice a “broken agency.”

“72600019 and 72601019. To you, they may be just numbers, but to me, they are my heart. These numbers are my parents' identification numbers in our federal prison system,” the “Chrisley Knows Best” star told the crowd.

Chrisley accused the Biden administration of using the Justice Department as a weapon to “consistently punish their enemies.”

“This is not justice. Look at what they did to Steve Bannon. I mean, the man should be home,” she said.

She demanded that unscrupulous prosecutors be held accountable.

“There should be no immunity. We must expose the corruption of the Democrats and, better yet, the corruption of the Biden family. And you know what? I know just the right man for the job. Donald J. Trump has only one belief that matters, and that is his belief in making America great again,” she said.

Why were the Chrisleys convicted?

Todd and Julie Chrisley, along with their accountant Peter Tarantino, were found guilty in 2022 of defrauding banks and the IRS of millions of dollars. The case involved two main fraud schemes: tax evasion and bank fraud.

Prosecutors allege that the Chrisleys diverted Todd's income to accounts under Julie's name and then transferred those funds to family members to avoid detection by the IRS. Tarantino was found guilty of making false statements to federal agents in an attempt to mislead the IRS.

Prosecutors also say the Chrisleys, along with Todd's former business partner Mark Braddock, used falsified financial documents to secure loans and lines of credit from various banks, greatly inflating their assets.

While the appeals court overturned Julie Chrisley's conviction because there was insufficient evidence of losses prior to 2007, it upheld the convictions of Todd Chrisley and Tarantino and ruled that they must continue to serve their 12- and 3-year prison sentences, respectively.
