Former MMA fighter receives 25 years in prison for killing EHT man in Atlantic City hotel room

A former MMA fighter has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after admitting to stabbing a man to death in a casino hotel room in 2022.

Brian Wilkinson, 47, of Egg Harbor Township, was found naked with numerous stab wounds on the floor of Room 2618 at the Ocean Casino Resort at approximately 1:30 p.m. on September 23, 2022.

Andrew Osborne, now 36, was arrested three days later at his home in Philadelphia.

He was extradited to Atlantic County and has been in jail since October 17, 2022. He was charged in December of the same year.

Osborne admitted the murder in May.

He must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence, or 21 years and three months, before he can be released on parole.

When Wilkinson was found, his shoes and cellphone were missing. All that was in the room was a white T-shirt and a pair of underwear, the affidavit said.

An investigation revealed that Wilkinson had checked in at around 7:30 p.m. the night before the murder.

Osborne and his wife checked into Room 902, which Colleen Osborne had already paid for through Expedia, at 2:16 a.m. on the morning of the murder. It was in a different tower than Wilkinson.

The last time the victim was seen alive on video was around 10:02 p.m. the night before the murder, when he went to his room alone, the affidavit states.

According to the affidavit, the door to Wilkinson's room was opened from the inside at 6:57 a.m. on the morning of his murder and the lock was locked to keep the door open.

Osborne was seen in the guest elevator of the Victim Tower at 7:09 a.m. wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants and gray/dark shoes, the affidavit states. He exited on Wilkinson's floor and the room door was closed at 7:11 a.m.

Nineteen minutes later, the door opened and Osborne entered the elevator wearing the same jacket, but this time with gray shoes and pants matching the victim's clothing, the affidavit states. He also had a black plastic bag with him.

The Osbornes' room was opened with a key at 7:35 a.m., and 23 minutes later, the couple was seen leaving Ocean in a silver Hyundai Accent hatchback with Pennsylvania license plates, the affidavit states.

The 35-year-old Philadelphia native is a former mixed martial arts fighter whose last fight was in 2017 and whose record included seven wins, 11 losses and one draw, according to MMA website Tapology.

Osborne will remain at the Atlantic County Justice Facility until he is transferred to state prison.
