Street sweeper stranded after accident on W/X Freeway in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO – Part of a street sweeper hangs next to the W/X Freeway in Sacramento Friday morning.

The accident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. on Highway 50, near the junction with Interstate 5.

The exact causes of the accident are unclear, but it appears that a street cleaning vehicle was involved.

At least one tire and part of the driver's cabin of the street sweeper hang over the edge of the highway.

It is unclear what caused the accident and whether there were any injuries.

There were numerous incidents on Sacramento's freeways on Friday. Further up the road on southbound Interstate 5, for example, there were traffic delays caused by an overturned semi-trailer and a car fire.
