Seattle Seahawks injury tracker for the final week of the 2024 NFL preseason

No team has an injury-free NFL season, and the Seattle Seahawks are no exception. Even though the regular season hasn't even started yet, many players are currently sidelined due to injuries, forcing new head coach Mike Macdonald to make some adjustments to his lineups in the final week of preseason.

Here's a quick look at all the players on the Seahawks' 90-man offseason roster who are currently injured and what their status is.

RT Abe Lucas (PUP)

The biggest injury concern for the team continues to be right tackle Abe Lucas, who is still recovering from knee surgery that sidelined him for 11 games last season. Macdonald's most recent update on Lucas was that he isn't sure when he will be able to return to practice. For now, Lucas is still on the PUP list and George Fant is slated to start in his place at right tackle in Week 1.

NT Cameron Young (PUP)

Second-year nose tackle Cameron Young has also been sidelined for a long time, missing practice all offseason. Young played just over 200 defensive snaps as a rookie but apparently suffered an unspecified “lower body” injury. About a month ago, Macdonald said the team expected Young back soon, whatever that means.

S Jerrick Reed II (PUP)

Safety Jerrick Reed had a promising rookie season on special teams, but it came to an abrupt end when he tore his ACL against the division rival Los Angeles Rams in Week 11. It sounds like it could be a while before he returns, with Macdonald saying he expects Young to return sooner than Reed.

WR Tyler Lockett

Although it is only a minor issue, wide receiver Tyler Lockett has missed several weeks of training due to his leg injury. Since he is no longer on the roster, Dareke Young moved up to the third spot among wide receivers behind DK Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. There is no news on Lockett, who had to sit out again yesterday.

LB Jerome Baker

After missing most of the offseason with a wrist injury suffered last season with the Miami Dolphins, Baker has sat out the past few weeks with a hamstring injury. However, Baker was spotted doing individual drills at yesterday's practice and Macdonald said he is on the right track.

(Almost) all tight ends

Seattle is currently quite shorthanded at the tight end position, as three players at that position have suffered minor injuries this month. Noah Fant, Pharaoh Brown and Jack Westover were all out yesterday. The Seahawks signed a few players at the tight end position earlier this week to help make ends meet.

S Rayshawn Jenkins

On the first play of Wednesday's practice, safety Rayshawn Jenkins came up limping, limped off the field and then did not return. Yesterday, Macdonald told reporters that Jenkins has a leg injury, but he does not know when he will return. K'Von Wallace is the next man in his place.

DE Dre'Mont Jones

After missing two weeks with a hamstring injury, Dre'Mont Jones suffered a setback in the team's first practice together against the Tennessee Titans. He hasn't returned to practice yet, creating more time for edge rusher Derick Hall, who is a sophomore this year and is currently the team's highest-graded defensive player this preseason, according to PFF.

CB Tre Brown

Other players who sat out yesterday's practice include cornerback Tre Brown, who is dealing with an unspecified issue. Macdonald told the media Thursday that he is “probably” expected to return to practice next week. Brown has performed very well in training camp, and yesterday's trade of Mike Jackson to the Carolina Panthers secured Brown's spot as the team's left boundary corner this year.
