Ryan Burr avoids trouble and scoreless game

Robert Burr

by Chase Davis | Blue Jays Correspondent | Friday, August 23, 8:31 a.m. EDT

Ryan Burr managed to navigate a shaky inning as the opener, allowing two hits and a walk and striking out two players in a scoreless inning against the Blue Jays.

Fantasy influence:

Despite the base traffic, Burr kept his composure and didn't allow any runs, helping the Angels stay competitive despite a 5-3 loss. Given his season-long struggles with a 5.12 ERA and 1.34 WHIP, such performances are a reminder of his potential, especially with his solid 11.6 K/9 rate. Fantasy managers should remain cautious, however, as his inconsistency and lack of save opportunities make him attractive primarily to deeper leagues where holds and strikeouts play a large role.
