The above video is from FOX19 NOW's previous reporting.

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – The driver accused of killing a mother of four in July 2023 has pleaded guilty, according to Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers.

Tessa Copeland pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and negligent assault after killing 32-year-old Ashlee Bailey and injuring three of her children.

Copeland was charged with negligent homicide and aggravated assault in January.

The accident occurred late at night on Harrison Avenue.

Powers said Copeland was driving on Harrison Avenue when she crossed the center line and collided head-on with Bailey's vehicle.

Bailey and her children were taken to a nearby hospital, but the mother did not make it.

According to prosecutors, blood tests showed that Copeland had opioids in her system the night of the accident. She was also driving without a license.

She will return to court on September 25 for sentencing.
