2 teenagers arrested for weapons and drug offenses in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) – Asheville police said two teenagers were arrested on weapons and drug charges after a lengthy investigation.

According to police, officers attempted to make contact with the teens at Hillcrest Apartments around 6:14 p.m. on Friday, August 22.

When police approached the youths, they initially attempted to escape on foot. However, officers found the youths and arrested them without incident in nearby apartments.

During the arrest, three weapons, 12 grams of fentanyl and $7,123 were found, police said.

The police, in cooperation with the juvenile justice system, brought the following charges:

  • Trafficking in opium or heroin through possession
  • Possession with intent to sell or supply, Annex II
  • Possession of a handgun by a minor
  • Possession of a weapon of mass destruction
  • Possession of a handgun by a minor
  • Resist, delay, hinder
