Former NFL quarterback Brad Kaaya makes a touching video about his close relationship with his famous mother, comedian Angela Means

Bradley Kaaya Jr. is a former NFL quarterback who made a name for himself in college while playing at the University of Miami. The best passer of all time at The UKaaya was drafted into the NFL and played for the Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis ColtsAnd Cincinnati Bengalsbefore several injuries forced him to change career direction: He devoted himself to modeling, cybersecurity and screenwriting and called himself the “Side Quest King” on social media.

Kaaya currently lives in London and regularly posts videos on TikTok about his many lives and travels. He talks about his family history as someone with a solid Tanzanian legacy and answers questions about his time as a professional footballer and the business of cybersecurity. Recently, someone asked him if he could talk about his relationship with his famous mother.

“Dude can you talk about your mom's name being ANGELA MEANS and being the origin of 'Bye Felicia,'” one user asked.

For those who don’t know: Angela Means was an actress and comedian from the Definitely Comedy Jam Era, appearing in several classic films and television shows in the 90s. A model and screenwriter, she is best known for her role as Felisha in the 1995 cult classic Fridayby Ice cubes and Chris Tucker.

Kaaya replied to the commentator and said that his mother was actually the famous “Felisha” from Friday and called her the “queen of side quests.” Kaaya then made a touching video about his relationship with his mother, where he talked more about her work in Hollywood and called her his “best friend.”

“My mother was an actress, famous for her role in Friday as Felisha. She was the character to whom people famously said: “Bye, Felisha.” She also played this villain in House Party 3. She played the mother in this Nickelodeon show from the 90s Cousin Skeeterand before that she was a stand-up comedian,” Kaaya began.

He then shared a video from their time at Definitely Comedy Jam and a picture from her career as a supermodel before she moved on to what was most important to him – her role as his mother.

“She’s my best friend too,” Kaaya said, sharing a sweet recent photo of himself and his mom.

“She was also my trusted advisor when it came to recruiting players for college football… She is also my travel partner. Growing up, we took a lot of road trips all over California, just her and me… In return, I took her to Japan for her birthday a few years ago,” Kaaya added.

He talked about how much fun his childhood was because his mother was a comedian and remembered the days when he South Park And Chappelle's Show with his mother. He also fondly remembered the times when he and his mother would throw eggs at abandoned houses and cars to let off steam during difficult times and exchange sweet text messages with each other.

“And most importantly, she is literally my superhero,” Kaaya said.

Means, a chef, restaurant owner and author of several books, caught wind of her son's sweet video. She took to social media to thank everyone for the kind messages about her career and her son. She also offered encouragement to those who may not have had the best relationship with their mothers, reminding them that every path they take is part of life's plan.

“I wanted to thank everyone who responded to Bradley's really adorable video about us and his mom Felisha,” Means said with a giggle. “This boy is special. He ratted me out,” she continued.

“I've gotten the most incredible news. I've gotten some heartbreaking news too… Listen, this much I know is true. No matter what kind of mother you had or got, she was your job,” Means said.
