Tuscaloosa VCU responds to death in home on Lake Tuscaloosa

Police are on their way to a home on Lake Tuscaloosa after a death occurred there Friday afternoon that does not appear to have been the fault of anyone else.

Captain Marty Sellers, co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told local media at 5:30 a.m. that VCU was conducting a death investigation in Lake Side Drive, a neighborhood near Old Watermelon Road.

Sellers said there is currently no indication of anything suspicious.

If no crime has been committed, VCU's policy is not to disclose the identity of the deceased.
