Johanna Davila, 50, was charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder following the July 12 attack, Las Vegas television station KLAS reported.

She remained in custody this week. Her bail was set at $35,000 and she is scheduled to appear in local court on September 4.

The victim wanted her share

The victim was identified as the owner of the nightclub on East Lake Mead Boulevard in the Sunrise Manor neighborhood. He was trying to purchase Davila's share of the club, and the two were scheduled to hold a business meeting about the purchase on July 13, authorities said.

But hours before the meeting, the unnamed victim was on his way to his apartment after work at the nightclub.

As he drove through the Sunrise Manor neighborhood, he noticed a delivery truck behind his vehicle.

As he reached the corner of North Linn Lane and East Owens Avenue, shots were fired in his direction. Five bullets hit his car.

None of the blows hit his body and he remained uninjured.

The incident was reported to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). Officers searched the area and later found surveillance camera footage.

While watching the video, officers noticed a car registered to Davila spotted near the crime scene.

Davila and a second suspect were questioned by police. Davila was searched and officers found a gun in her purse. Bullets were examined. They were similar to those found at the crime scene, police said.

It was also revealed that she allegedly followed the victim for nearly five hours, waiting for the right moment to shoot him, police added.

Claimed she had been to Disneyland

Davila initially told police she was at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, when the victim's car was hit by bullets.

She later changed her statement and told police she was near the shooting. However, she said she had nothing to do with the shooting. Police later found enough evidence to charge her.

She must now face both charges and faces a prison sentence if convicted.

No charges had been filed against the second suspect, an unnamed man, as of Thursday. He denied involvement in the shooting. But LVMPD officials believe the man was involved in the shooting with Davila, KLAS reported.

There is no information about the extent of the damage to the victim's car.
