WWE Hall of Famer defends controversial no-selling incident

WWE Hall of Fame member Ted DiBiase recalled a notable incident from the wrestling archives, recalling the 1987 Steel Cage Match in which Bruiser Brody famously refused to be traded for Lex Luger.

In an episode of his podcast Everybody's Got a Pod, DiBiase cited Luger's inability to earn the respect of the locker room as the reason Brody sabotaged the fight. DiBiase expressed his approval of Brody's decision to interfere with the fight, stating:

Honestly, I agree [Brody not respecting Lex Luger getting a push because of his physique]. You will not get the place just because you have this enormous [physique]I mean, it obviously takes a lot of time and a lot of discipline to get a body like that.

The discussion highlighted the often harsh realities of the wrestling industry, where respect and standing among peers are of paramount importance. DiBiase explained the importance of learning the wrestling craft before reaching a top position.

I was old school and most of the guys that used to work for Vince were old school too. In other words, you learn the craft by doing it every night in the ring. And you're with somebody who might be different every night, but this guy is leading you on and you learn as you go.

Which current WWE Superstar would Ted DiBiase like to wrestle?

Ted DiBiase said that he would love to get in the ring with the current undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. DiBiase justified his choice by saying that he believed Rhodes would win because he learned from his father Dusty Rhodes and he himself learned a lot from Dusty.
