Drugs, cash and paraphernalia found in the vehicle

FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A Floyd County woman is facing charges after police found morphine pills, oxycodone and other drug paraphernalia in her vehicle.

On August 19, police on US 23 in Harold Township noticed an SUV turning without signaling.

When police stopped Rozalyn Hamilton, they asked her if she had any illegal items in the vehicle.

According to police, Hamilton told them that was not the case.

A police dog sniffed the vehicle, after which police again asked Hamilton if she had any illegal items in the vehicle.

She told them she had “some marijuana.”

Police later found more than 150 white pills identified as gabapentin in a lockable box. They also found morphine tablets, six mushrooms, a digital scale and eight grams of a leaf-like substance believed to be marijuana.

Police also found $3,587 in cash in the locker.

Hamilton was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense (greater than or equal to 10, drug unspecified), Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense (less than 10, drug unspecified, Schedules 1 and 2), Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, First Offense (less than 10 hallucinogens), Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, First Offense (greater than 120, drug unspecified), Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense (less than 10 opiates), Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia – Purchase/Possession, and Failure to Signal or Improperly Signal.

Hamilton was taken to the Floyd County Jail.
