Shooting of Abdul Vicks: Rapper with ties to Philadelphia street gang Young Bag Chasers “YBC” shot dead in Olney: sources

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting that left a popular rapper dead in the city's Olney neighborhood.

The shots were fired around 3:34 p.m. Friday in the 5500 block of N. 6th Street.

According to police, the 25-year-old male victim was shot multiple times in the chest and hand. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sources have identified the victim as Abdul Vicks, a popular rapper known as “YBC Dul.” He was a member of the Young Bag Chasers (YBC) gang.

No arrests were made.

The circumstances of the shooting were not disclosed.

Philadelphia police are also investigating another shooting that left a man dead and a small child injured in the 600 block of North 12th Street.

The shots were fired on Friday at around 6:19 p.m.

In this case, officers are still searching for the two shooters.
