Couple allegedly forced teenagers in Hillsborough County to perform sexual acts

A fire lieutenant and his wife were arrested after being accused of forcing a 16-year-old to perform sexual acts with them, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

According to HCSO, the incident occurred at the couple's Riverview home in March 2024. Hillsborough County officials became aware of the incident on April 27.

After completing a thorough investigation, officers arrested Sascha Engel, 39, a lieutenant with the Hillsborough County Fire Department, and his wife Alyssa Engel, 37, on Thursday.

“It is both disgusting and deeply disappointing when not one, but two adults work together to take advantage of a young child, especially when one of those adults is a trusted authority in our community,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This egregious violation of innocence is scandalous and goes against all the values we stand for in this community.”
