Man from Clarion allegedly punched girlfriend in the face repeatedly

CLARION BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — A Clarion man has been charged with allegedly repeatedly punching his girlfriend in the face, police said.

Court records show that Clarion Borough police have filed charges against the 38-year-old Lucas James McMasterof Clarion, in District Judge Timothy Schill's office on August 20.

According to a criminal complaint, on Friday, August 16, at approximately 5:11 p.m., a known female victim reported to Clarion Borough Police that she had been assaulted by Lucas McMaster at a residence on Grand Avenue Extension (Drakes Crossing) in Clarion Borough.

The victim told police she brought food to the apartment and called Lucas McMaster to ask a question, but he left the apartment very upset. The victim went to her car to check text messages and saw McMaster had sent her a message saying she better not come there and that he was going to punch her in the face. The victim said McMaster came around the corner, saw her and said, “I (expletive) told you so!” The victim responded, “You want to beat me like a man. Are you serious?” and then said, “Okay, let's beat,” the complaint states.

McMaster then lunged at her with his fist raised, punched her in the face several times and scratched her back in an attempt to grab her, the complaint says.

The victim said a witness tried to intervene, but she was then struck three more times. She said she tried to protect herself before McMaster eventually returned to his apartment, the complaint states.

McMaster came out shortly afterward and told the victim that he was leaving and that if she was still in his apartment when he returned, he would attack her again, the complaint states.

The victim complained of a burning sensation in both cheeks and pain in her lip. She also reported having two scratch marks on her back, the complaint states.

According to the indictment, police interviewed witnesses who said they saw McMaster punch the victim (his girlfriend) several times in the head/face area.

McMaster was charged with the following offences:

  • Simple assault, misdemeanor 2
  • Harassment – ​​Physically harassing others, summary

He is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing.
