Florida State WR Hykeem Williams out against Georgia Tech due to injury

Florida State Seminoles wide receiver Hykeem Williams will not play in today's 2024 season opener against Georgia Tech, according to ESPN college football reporter Pete Thamel.

Williams has a minor injury and is expected to return in the near future, but his injury is so severe that he will not be able to compete on Saturday.

The nature of the injury was not disclosed.

A former five-star recruit and the No. 3 wide receiver in the 247Sports Composite and Rivals, Williams developed into the fourth-best prospect in the state of Florida.

He appeared in eight games last season, catching five passes for 80 yards and a touchdown and scoring a 44-yard touchdown in a win against Syracuse.

Williams recorded two pass catches for 18 yards in a win over Duke and a nine-yard catch in last postseason's Orange Bowl against Georgia.
