On Thursday, authorities arrested a Port Orange man on 21 counts of possession of generated child pornography after finding images that “appeared to be created by an AI or computer and clearly depicted minors,” according to a Port Orange police Facebook post.

James Lenharr, 68, had been held in Volusia County Jail without bail since Saturday, jail records show.

In July, detectives seized and examined electronic devices from a home in the 4000 block of North Waterbridge Circle after receiving a tip from the National Center For Missing and Exploited Children that child sexual abuse material was being sent from the location, the post said. The Volusia Sheriff's Office Digital Forensics Unit assisted in the investigation.

On July 1, a law went into effect in Florida that makes it a third-degree felony to “knowingly possess, control, or intentionally view a photograph, film, depiction, image, data file, computer representation, or other presentation that he or she knows to contain generated child pornography in whole or in part,” according to the police department.
