3 dead and 3 injured in multi-vehicle crash on I-35W in Denton County, officials say

Three women were killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 35W in Denton County Friday evening, officials said.

Denton County Emergency Services District No. 1 responded to a serious multi-vehicle crash on northbound I-35W around 6:45 p.m., the agency said on X. Northbound lanes were temporarily closed at Crawford Road.

Argyle Police Chief Emmitt Jackson told Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV that four people were taken to Medical City Denton and two to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.

Three of the victims died shortly after the accident at Medical City Denton, according to the Tarrant County Coroner's website. They were identified as Odilia Orozco Gonzalez de Alvarez, 69, Elia Orozco, 65, and Gladis Orozco Gonzalez De Cifuentes, 63.
