the tragic result for Mike Lynch's partner and the Bayesian

Juan Peña

Those who won the legal battle died. This is the tragic end of Mike Lynch and Stephen Chamberlain, his business partner, both exonerated by the American justice system after years of litigation and indictment for a series of economic crimes related to the sale of $11 billion worth of software.

Lynch was swallowed by the sea, a phenomenon known as the “sea spill” caused by a storm. Chamberlain was run over by a blue Opel Corsa at Cambridge Sports. The deaths, which are now surrounded by an aura of mystery and suspicion, occurred within the the same 48 hours.

Festive night in the Bayesian

On the night of the shipwreck, the passengers of the Bayesian celebrated. Finally, after 13 years of legal battle, Mike Lynch was able to celebrate getting the pebble out of his shoe. Earlier this summer, the British tech mogul was found not guilty on the 15 charges of fraud he was exposed to in connection with the sale of his company Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard for $11.1 billion in 2011.

The sailboat with the highest mast in the world

The Bayesian was the only ship that had a serious accident off the coast of Sicily during the night of Sunday 18th to Monday 19th. This sailing yacht was Completion 2008built by the Italian leisure boating company Perini Navi.

It had a length of 55.9 meters, a width of 11.51 meters and a draft of 9.73. But what really stands out about this sailboat is its mast. Until the shipwreck, the Bayesian's mast was the highest in the world on a ship of this type, at 75 meters.

Following this sale, HP wrote down Autonomy’s total value by billions of dollars shortly after the deal was completed, claiming that it had significant Irregularities in accounting. Lynch was charged in court with 16 counts of wire fraud, securities fraud and conspiracy, but the securities fraud charge was dropped.

The only ship that was shipwrecked that night

After the night of partying on the sailboat, passengers and crew went to sleep. The cabins of the Bayesian are located in the lower part of the hull of the sailing ship. The storm came close at about four o'clock local time and intensified by five o'clock.

As surveillance camera footage from the port of Portiello on the Sicilian coast shows, the ship was at around 5:30 a.m. began to staggerMost of the passengers and crew slept for hours, but many were awakened by the shaking and noise and survived.

All crew members, with the exception of the cook Recaldo Thomas, were able to save their lives. This also applied to Lynch's wife and legal owner of the shipAngela Bacares; the Golunski-Esmile family; and lawyer Ayla Ronald.

According to press reports, those who made it to the yacht's main bridge fell into the sea when the waves hit the boat. Miraculously, the lifeboat was activated beforehand and many of them reached the lifeboatIn this way, 15 people were saved from death at sea.

Lynch's employees

This was not the case for seven other people who drowned in the middle of the storm. In addition to the cook Recaldo Thomas, the people who died in this tragedy are to Mike Lynch's inner circle.

Hannah Lynch, his daughter, who had managed to study at Oxford University a few months earlier. There was also Chris MorvilloMike Lynch's lead attorney, who represented him in the lawsuits against HP since 2011. He was also one of the attorneys who investigated the September 11 bombings of the World Trade Center. Morvillo was accompanied on this recovery trip by his wife, jeweler Neda Morvillo.

Jonathan Bloomer is also among those missing from the shipwreck. He is a senior manager at the US investment bank Morgan Stanley. Bloomer appeared at the HP trial as a witness for Lynch's defense, according to the BBC. Bloomer was also accompanied by his wife Judy.

But that was not all. Another of Lynch's associates, also a defendant in the HP trials, died on Saturday. In Britain, thousands of miles away from Sicily, Stephen Chamberlain was hit by a blue Opel Corsa during training on the street in the morning.

The British police recently assured There was no evidence that the death of the technology magnate’s business partner was “suspicious or unwanted.”

Some of these coincidences have a flood of Conspiracy theories which cast doubt on the official version of events. Some suggest that there is a connection between all these deaths or, even crazier, that the missing people did not die at all.
