Baltimore County man charged in rage-driving shooting in Howard County

A 48-year-old Baltimore County man is charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting on I-95 in Howard County in mid-August.

Maryland State Police said Quwan Gordon of Owings Mills was charged Friday with shooting the driver of another car on I-95 on Aug. 12. Troopers said the shooting happened during an incident of “road rage” that led to an argument. No one in the car was injured in the incident, state police said.

Investigators identified and found a white Volkswagen involved in the incident and were able to trace it back to Gordon, police said.

A search of Gordon's Owings Mills home and his car turned up suspected MDMA, fentanyl and a loaded handgun, officials said. Gordon is prohibited from possessing firearms due to previous convictions, officials said.

Gordon was arrested on August 13 for weapons and drug violations in connection with the search.

State police said further investigation led to a connection between Gordon and his car and the shooting on I-95, but did not provide details on what connection the car was to the shooting.

Prosecutors charged Gordon with attempted murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center. No attorney was listed for Gordon in online jail records.
