53-year-old man suffers brain hemorrhage in South Dakota accident after losing control of his Lincoln Town Car

A 53-year-old man was hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage Saturday after he lost control of his 2008 Lincoln Town Car and was struck from behind by another car in San Diego's Kensington neighborhood.

The accident was reported around 11:23 p.m. on Friday, San Diego police officers responded to the 4800 block of Fairmount Avenue. When they arrived, officers learned the man was traveling south on Fairmount Avenue when he inexplicably lost control of his vehicle and struck the embankment on the west side of the road, police said.

A 24-year-old woman driving her 2005 Acura behind the victim was unable to avoid the Lincoln Town Car and struck the side of the vehicle. The victim suffered a brain hemorrhage and was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.

According to police, alcohol was not involved in the accident.
