Bartender's tip leads to guest's arrest for drug offenses at a Hamptons nightclub

A 33-year-old Hampton Bays man probably wasn't expecting such a mishap early Saturday morning when he allegedly offered methamphetamine to the bartender of a Hamptons nightclub.

Southampton Police arrested Yeison Gonzalez-Ocampo after receiving a report from a Beach Bar employee about the attempted transaction at the Hampton Bays Club.

Police investigations revealed that the defendant offered the bartender a quantity of methamphetamine at 1:36 a.m. and that he was still carrying the drugs when he was found by investigators, police said.

Gonzalez-Ocampo is charged with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, police said. He was transported to Southampton Police Headquarters for further processing.

His file was processed at police headquarters and he was then released with a summons to appear in court at a later date.
