That worked for the most part, but when Richards decided to join “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” in 2019, she gave a glimpse into her family's life. Every now and then, people caught a glimpse of Sami on the show. But she started making headlines in 2022 when she took the bold career step of joining the content subscription service OnlyFans. After seeing a model on the social media platform, Sami felt inspired. She told Bustle, “I thought, 'Oh my God, that looks so fun.' She just had so much freedom and posted whatever she wanted and set her own times.” Although the platform has a reputation for having explicit content, that didn't stop Sami.

Since joining OnlyFans, her name has been in the spotlight more times in the past few years than it was during her entire childhood. The content creator has been more open than ever, revealing some of the tragic situations she has had to go through in her life.

Sami Sheen revealed everything to her followers, disturbingly claiming that she grew up in an abusive household. According to Page Six, Sheen shared a clip of herself crying a year ago in a now private video. She captioned the tearful video: “One year ago today: trapped in an abusive household, hated myself, couldn't eat or sleep for days, was insanely depressed, hated school, etc…” Later in the video, Sheen shared another clip of herself living a better and happier life. She said: “Now: finally moved out of the hell house, had a spiritual awakening, have two cats, am happily single, full of self-love, and dropped out of high school.”

According to Fox News, the content creator attacked her mother, Denise Richards. While she claimed to live in an “abusive household,” she lived with the “RHOBH” star. Sami eventually moved in with her father, Charlie Sheen, where she says she was happier.

In her video, Sami did not elaborate on why her personal life with Richards was “abusive.” However, a source close to the “RHOBH” star defended her. They told People: “She is [Richards] a mother and a parent and there are rules. They [Sami] didn’t want to follow the rules.” The strict structure ultimately led to tensions between Richards and Sami.

Denise Richards hinted that she was struggling with parenting teenagers long before Sami Sheen moved out of home. In a 2020 episode of “RHOBH” (via Us Weekly), the reality star told viewers, “I'm struggling with parenting my teenagers right now. Sami, I think sometimes she does things in hopes of getting a reaction from me. It's not easy.” People already knew Sheen and Richards were struggling with their relationship, but it seemed to reach a climax when the OnlyFans creator moved out of her mother's house.

During her appearance on “Jeff Lewis Live” on Sirius XM, the “Wild Things” star shared the sad update that she and Sheen were not on good terms. She explained, “Honestly, I have a strained relationship with her and it's very difficult. I know we'll get back to where we were at some point, but right now it's strained.” Richards confirmed to listeners that the reason the content creator moved in with Charlie Sheen was because she was enforcing rules that Sami didn't like. Although the mother-daughter duo had a strained relationship, Richards was always open to Sami coming home. She said, “Of course I would love for her to live with me. She's lived with me all these years.” Sami and Richards were eventually able to get back on good terms, but it took a while to rebuild that good relationship.

Sami Sheen was vulnerable with her followers when she revealed that she has been addicted to nicotine for years. In a now-deleted TikTok video, Sheen shared that she was planning to have breast augmentation surgery and had to stop vaping to do so. She shared (via People): “I'm so scared and I don't know how I'm going to live without this thing. It's really sad. My whole life revolves around this. I've been dependent on it for so long.”

Sheen said she had been addicted to nicotine for the past five years, but her surgery left her facing withdrawal. She knew there would be benefits to quitting vaping, but it didn't make it any easier for the content creator. “I think the breast augmentation is honestly going to save my life because it's going to force me to quit. So at least we have that.” She continued, “I've thought about postponing my surgery just because I'm too scared to fucking quit nicotine.”

The OnlyFans star later posted an update on TikTok, revealing that she had read Allen Carr's book Easy Way to Quit Vaping and was inspired to quit her e-cigarettes. In the video, she poured them into water before throwing them in the trash altogether. It seemed that Sheen stuck to her guns and was able to quit nicotine, as she had surgery shortly after quitting.

Sami Sheen is one of the many celebrities who openly talk about mental health issues. One of the things she has struggled with in her life is depression. The OnlyFans content creator shared with Bustle that she wasn't doing well when her mother, Denise Richards, was on “RHOBH.” She explained, “If you watch clips of me on the 'Housewives,' you can tell I went through that,” she continued. “When it aired, people were like, 'Oh my God, she looks awful.' It was like, 'Yeah, dude, I was so depressed. I didn't care about anything.' No one knew what Sheen was going through, and she wasn't just struggling with depression.

When Sheen decided to quit vaping for her plastic surgery, she revealed that the thought of giving up nicotine scared her. In her now-deleted video (via E! News), she said, “I'm getting a breast augmentation in two months and I have to be nicotine-free for a month before that. I'm already getting scared.” From anxiety to depression, Sheen has been through a lot in her life. But in recent years, she's been more willing to let her followers in on her daily struggles and everything she's been through.

Unfortunately, bullying is not uncommon and is something that Sami Sheen has struggled with in her life. In 2013, Sami's father Charlie Sheen took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and claimed she was bullied at school. In a tweet, he wrote, “CADRE! This is a legitimate call to arms. My daughter Sam was bullied out of school and then called a liar. It's on!” The actor was furious about the incident and aggressively wanted to retaliate. He shared (via Us Weekly), “If you have a rotten egg, roll of toilet paper, or dog poop, I challenge you to deliver it to their KamPuss run by trolls and charlatans with 'extreme bias.' Make me proud.” Sami has never confirmed if this bullying incident actually happened, but she has had to face a lot of criticism from people she doesn't even know.

When Sami shared the first photos of her plastic surgery on Instagram, she was torn apart in the comments, with one user saying, “Why did you do that? They look completely out of proportion compared to the rest of your body. And all of this just to make men stare at you.
