NYPD detective arrested late Friday night for drunk driving

An off-duty NYPD detective was arrested for suspected drunken driving, authorities said.

Christina McKeever was stopped by police around 11:30 p.m. on Friday near the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge, not far from the NYPD headquarters at One Police Plaza.

Police said McKeever, 30, refused to take a breathalyzer test, adding that they did not know what prompted officers to stop the officer's car.

NYPD Officer Philip Fioranelli was charged with misconduct Wednesday for sitting on a handcuffed inmate and spraying pepper spray in his mouth and eyes.

She was charged with drunk driving, driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to take a breathalyzer test.

According to a court clerk, the accused detective was awaiting arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court on Saturday afternoon.
