Clayton man arrested for attempted murder and elder abuse after stabbing –

CLAYTON, CA (August 24, 2024) – On Friday afternoon, 8/23/2024, Clayton Police dispatched officers to a residence on Indian Wells Way in reference to a woman who had been stabbed multiple times.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, whose name is being withheld for confidentiality reasons, outside the residence. She was speaking to officers and appeared alert. Officers found the suspect in the backyard of the residence and arrested him without incident. The knife was found on a table next to the suspect in the backyard. The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance and later released.

The suspect, Darius Darabian, 37, of Clayton, was medically evaluated at another hospital. He was then taken to the Martinez Detention Facility where he was charged with attempted murder and elder abuse. The suspect's motive is unknown.

Clayton Police have not released any further information at this time.
