13-year-old boy allegedly posted online threats against other students in San Bernardino County

In San Bernardino County, an investigation was ongoing after a 13-year-old boy allegedly posted threats against other students on social media.

The Helendale Secondary School student is accused of making threats against other students online. Officials said they were informed that some of the posts used images of weapons.

The threatening letters prompted authorities to issue a search warrant for the suspect's home on Thursday, but no weapons were found.

“During the course of the investigation, officers learned that the juvenile had been using photos from the Internet as a background for his posts,” the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department said in a press release. No credible threat was identified, authorities added, but their investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy J. Munoz at the Victor Valley Sheriff's Station at (760) 552-6800.
