Emergency crews respond to serious multi-vehicle crash on I-495 in Plainville – Boston News, Weather, Sports

PLAINVILLE, MASS. (WHDH) – State police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash on I-495 in Plainville Saturday night that involved four cars and resulted in serious injuries, officials said.

When troopers were called to a reported accident on Route 1 southbound near the I-495 on-ramps, they had to close Route 1 southbound at the intersection as well as the I-495 exit ramps onto Route 1 northbound and southbound, state police said.

According to initial investigations, four cars were probably involved.

No further information was released initially.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
