In the War Machine trial, it is said that a former MMA fighter “took steroids” before allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend

The jury in the War Machine trial heard that the former MMA fighter took steroids and choked a friend unconscious.

Herman Terrado, a friend of War Machine, testified during the trial in Las Vegas that he never saw him take steroids but was aware of his use, the New York Post reported.

It is alleged that Terrado and War Machine discussed steroids while training together in the gym.

“I knew about it … the guys at the gym know. We talk to each other,” said Terrado, also known as Hit Man.

War Machine has officially changed his name from Jon Koppenhaver.

As the Post reports, his defense apparently claims that steroids played a role in his alleged attack on his ex-porn star girlfriend Christy Mack in 2014.

According to Fox 5 News, another witness claimed that War Machine took anabolic steroids during their three-month relationship with her.

The former fighter faces more than 30 charges for attacking Mack and her boyfriend Corey Thomas in their home.

Mack was hospitalized following the alleged attack and claimed he inflicted numerous injuries on her.

The 25-year-old said she had to undergo cosmetic surgery to correct her teeth and nose after the attack.

The former couple were in a relationship for 15 months.

During her testimony, Mack said War Machine took steroids during their relationship.

“I watched him give himself the injection,” she said.

“I knew he would take pills from time to time.”'

War Machine has pleaded not guilty and could face life in prison if convicted.

It is said that he will not testify in the trial.
