Floyd Mayweather defeats John Gotti in strange exhibition fight

The exhibition fight between Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti 2 ended surprisingly subdued, even though Gotti had announced it as a rematch due to their viral brawl in 2023.

Mayweather dominated Gotti for eight rounds, outboxing him with ease and barely getting hit. In the eighth and final round, the crowd erupted in cheers and all action quickly petered out as the fighters seemed to be getting into the act.

Nevertheless, there were some moments this time too, as some of the most bizarre scenes in boxing occurred.

The first round timer malfunctioned, confusing both fighters. In the second round, the referee called Mayweather for punches to the back of the head and Mayweather responded by having him thrown out of the fight and replaced.

Throughout the fight, Gotti turned to the referee for help rather than fighting back as Mayweather pounded away at him. In the closing seconds of the eighth round, during a clinch exchange, Gotti repeatedly attempted to kiss Mayweather.

Unlike their last outing, this fight ended happily and both fighters showed respect for each other. However, it is unlikely that there will be much demand for a Mayweather-Gotti III.
