Man shot dead after altercation in Seattle's Central District

Detectives are trying to determine what led to a man's shooting death in Seattle on Saturday morning.

Shortly before 11 a.m., police received reports of a shooting in the 1800 block of South Jackson Street. Officers found an unconscious 44-year-old man with numerous gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.

Seattle police said the circumstances leading up to the shooting are currently unknown. During the initial 911 call, an argument was heard before the gunshots, so officers assumed he was shot during it.

The homicide squad and its detectives are working to find out more.
