PTI invents false story for another May 9 incident: Khawaja Asif – Pakistan

SIALKOT (Dunya News) – Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said the Pakistan Movement for Justice (PTI) was planning another incident similar to the May 9 riots.

He made the remark while speaking to the media in the city, where he said the PTI had cancelled its rally in Islamabad fearing rejection by the masses due to the party's misrepresentation against the state institutions.

Asif added that the audio leaks of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi and Aleema Khan had exposed the differences within the PTI.

“They (PTI) say they were not involved in the May 9 protests, but their faces were visible in the video of the incident, which proved their involvement,” the minister said.

He said Ali Amin Gandapur had surpassed even former Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in terms of governance failure.

Asif reiterated that those who defame the name of Pakistan by acting for foreign purposes will be dealt with with iron fist to safeguard sovereignty.
