Israel's war on Gaza live: Hezbollah says “first phase” of attack is over | News on the Israel-Palestine conflict

Leaders of regional councils in the areas of northern Israel attacked by Hezbollah said they would break off contact with the government in protest against the neglect.

“We have not interested you for 10.5 months, and from now on you do not interest us. Do not call, do not come, do not send messages. Until now we have managed on our own, and we will manage,” said a joint statement by Mateh Asher Regional Council Chairman Moshe Davidovich, Metula Mayor David Azoulay, and Upper Galilee Regional Council Chairman Giora Zaltz, according to The Times of Israel.

Regional leaders have repeatedly called for a reliable plan to accommodate tens of thousands of Israeli citizens displaced from the north as the conflict escalates.

Politicians are also angry because the Israeli military has not carried out large-scale preemptive strikes against Lebanon in defense of northern communities, as it did today after raising suspicions that Hezbollah may be considering attacks on Israel's central region.
