16-year-old boy kills father for 'beating' mother during argument in Delhi: police

New Delhi:

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Sunday for allegedly killing his father in a fit of rage, police said.

According to police, the boy hit his father on the head with a plastic pipe in Delhi's Rohini district while his father was beating his wife, leading to his death.

“A call about the murder of a person was received at Aman Vigar police station at 10:58 am on Sunday,” a senior police official said.

The man's body was kept in the hospital for an autopsy, police said.

Initial investigations have shown that the man who was killed had beaten his wife and children for trivial reasons while under the influence of alcohol, the official said.

“On Sunday, the slain man started a fight with his wife and was beating her when his son intervened and hit his father on the head with a plastic pipe, resulting in his death,” the official said.

Police said an FIR has been registered at Aman Vihar police station under relevant sections of the BNS.
