Victim treated after shooting at First and Lark Streets in Albany

A man was taken to hospital Sunday morning with a gunshot wound to the hand, police said. The incident occurred in the area of ​​First and Lark Streets.

According to a press release, Albany police officers responded to the area at around 3:55 a.m. for reports of shots fired. At the scene, authorities said a large group of people had gathered in the street; officers dispersed the group and began an investigation.

Shortly after the call, police said Albany Medical Center Hospital staff notified them that a 29-year-old man had been admitted to the emergency room with an apparent gunshot wound.

“Based on the investigation, it is believed that the victim was shot during the incident at the corner of First Street and Lark Street,” a police department spokesman said in a press release.

The man was reportedly treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
