Brenham ISD investigates incident involving an adult and a student on a school bus

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – A cell phone video obtained by KBTX last week from a student on a Brenham ISD school bus appears to show an adult boarding a stopped school bus and physically assaulting a student.

In a statement released to parents last week, Brenham ISD said, “We would like to inform you of an incident that occurred today, August 19, 2024, at approximately 4:45 p.m. on bus route 13. A parent forcibly entered the bus to confront a student. This incident was immediately reported to authorities and the parents of the student involved have been contacted.”

Brenham ISD said it is working closely with authorities on the matter, but it is unclear whether criminal charges will be filed against the adult.

“The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority and such behavior will not be tolerated. We are committed to ensuring that our school environment remains safe for all students,” the statement said.

The school district did not initially provide any further details.

KBTX was unable to locate the parents of the child who recorded the cell phone video and therefore does not have permission to publish the video.
