Upstate man charged with shooting of popular New York sneaker retailer ‘Upscale Cracc’

A Poughkeepsie man has been charged with gunning down well-known sneaker reseller “Upscale Cracc,” who was shot multiple times during a robbery in June, police said.

Suspected shooter Jayquan Straker, 35, was taken into custody Saturday morning in connection with the murder of Upscale, whose real name police say is Javier Osorio-Mejia, 31.

Osorio-Mejia, a resident of Bayonne, New Jersey, was shot three times in his right leg at 5:15 a.m. on June 25 outside a clothing store at 41 Greene Street in Soho, authorities said.

At the scene of the shooting is a clothing store called Stone Island, although it is not clear what Osorio-Mejia was doing there at the time.
