Williams County teenager dies in car crash in Michigan

CAMDEN, Michigan (WTVG) – A teenager from Williams County, Ohio, was killed in a traffic crash in Michigan early Sunday, officials said.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. on North Main Street in Camden, Michigan, in Hillsdale County.

A 17-year-old boy from Edgerton, Ohio, was driving a pickup truck with a 16-year-old boy in the passenger seat. The driver lost control, left the road and crashed into two vehicles parked in a driveway, Michigan State Police said Sunday.

The 17-year-old died at Hillsdale Hospital. The 16-year-old was flown to Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor with serious injuries. He is expected to survive, police said.

State police believe alcohol and speed played a role in the accident.

Police did not release the names of the teenagers.
