ANF sniffer dog shot dead in tragic incident at Karachi airport

KARACHI – A tragic incident occurred at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi when a sniffer dog of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) was shot dead.

The poor animal accidentally died at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi after entering a restricted area.

A statement from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority said the response team made several attempts to catch the dog but was forced to shoot it to prevent a possible threat to flight operations.

The team followed the control tower's instructions and struggled to control the dog. It was decided to shoot the animal to prevent it from reaching the taxiway and runway.

After the shooting, the incident was investigated and initial reports suggested it may have been a mistake by an airport security officer who mistook the dog for a stray animal.

At the time of the incident, the dog was in parking space number 25, where an Etihad Airways plane was parked.
