The stage is set for the season opener for the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. They will face off on the football field on Thursday night. UNC steamrolled Minnesota last year with a 31-13 victory, but the Golden Gophers hope they can turn their fortunes around in the 2024 edition.

Vegas seems to resemble Minnesota and their chances of revenge on Thursday night. The Golden Gophers are currently 1.5 favorites to win, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under is currently set at 50.5 total points. Here are some more details on what you need to know before the game.

How to watch UNC vs. Minnesota

Minnesota boasts one of the strongest backfields in the Big Ten. They have a number of talented running backs that will be difficult for the UNC defense to stop: Darius Taylor, Jordan Nubin, See BanguraAnd Marcus Major.

Hampton is supported on the offensive side of the ball by Tight End Bryson NesbitHe has rushed for over 500 yards in back-to-back seasons in recent years and should be a key weapon for quarterbacks Max Johnson and Conner Harrell. UNC head coach Mack Brown has indicated he wants to play both quarterbacks this season. We'll see how that plays out.
