Four people arrested in massive drug raid in Vance County

Authorities have arrested and charged several people following a massive drug raid on a home in Vance County.

According to the Vance County Sheriff's Office, officers with assistance from the Henderson Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation searched a home on Avery Lane on Wednesday, August 21.

During the search, officers found numerous drugs and weapons. They also said that “numerous young people” were in the house at the time of the search.

The Members stated:

  • 4,870 bundles of heroin.
  • 1,154 grams of cocaine.
  • More than a kilogram of crack cocaine.
  • more than 20 pounds of marijuana.
  • Five weapons.
  • More than $30,000 in U.S. currency.

Police arrested two residents, Maurice Kearney and Andrea Swain, and two other adults, Michael Gill and Tiffanie Moore, and charged them with multiple offenses.

Maurice Kearney:

  • Cocaine trafficking.
  • Heroin trafficking.
  • Marijuana trafficking.
  • Serious offense: Maintaining a dwelling and motor vehicle for the possession/sale/storage of controlled substances.

Andrea Swain:

  • Cocaine trafficking.
  • Heroin trafficking.
  • Marijuana trafficking.
  • Serious offense: Maintaining a dwelling and motor vehicle for the possession/sale/storage of controlled substances.

Michael Gill:

  • Cocaine trafficking.
  • Heroin trafficking.
  • Serious offense: Maintaining a dwelling and motor vehicle for the possession/sale/storage of controlled substances.

Tiffany Moore:

  • Cocaine trafficking.
  • Heroin trafficking.
  • Serious offense: Maintaining a dwelling and motor vehicle for the possession/sale/storage of controlled substances.

All four were remanded to jail on bail by officers. Officers said no one was injured during the search and they expect more arrests as the investigation continues.
