Dana White grants Wang Cong's request for $50,000 bonus after violent KO

UFC newcomer Wang Cong now gets her first bonus.

After impressing on Road to UFC, Cong (6-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) made her debut at UFC on ESPN 62 in the first fight of the night against Victoria Leonardo. The women's flyweight bout didn't last long.

China's Cong smashed Leonardo (9-6 MMA, 1-4 UFC) with a devastating punch, ending the fight with a walkoff knockout in 62 seconds. Cong not only impressed with her skills in the cage, but also stood out on the microphone when she declared that she had no business being in the first fight of the night, but deserved a spot on the main card.

Not to mention, “The Joker” made waves on social media with her faceoff at the weigh-in. She wore Joker face paint and told Leonardo in English, “I'm going to win. I'm crazy.” She then mimicked three punches at her opponent before walking away.

Speaking of bullets, she also has a win in kickboxing over former UFC flyweight champion Valentina “Bullet” Shevchenko.

Cong met all the necessary criteria in her debut, but was snubbed when the prizes were announced.

“Wake up and realize there is no POTN,” Cong wrote on Instagram. “Next fight you'll see a more spectacular finish @ufc. Don't play with Joker again!”

UFC general manager Dana White was not present at UFC on ESPN 62 as he has often skipped shows at UFC Apex this year, but he said he saw Cong's fight and sent her a response, which she was happy to read.

“I was out of town watching the @mystiqueboston fight on TV,” White responded on Instagram. “You looked AMAZING. I'm adding another PON bonus to you. Congrats you get 50k.”

“I love you, Dana,” Cong replied with several heart-eye emojis.

One fight over, a bonus for “The Joker” that is certainly worth keeping an eye on in the future.
