18-year-old shot in the head in McDonald's parking lot; shooter currently on the run

ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) – Police say an 18-year-old man was shot and killed in a McDonald's parking lot in Rock Hill.

The Rock Hill Police Department said officers were called to 115 South Cherry Road around 6:30 p.m. Sunday for a shooting report.

When officers arrived, they found the 18-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the head, according to police, and took him to a local hospital where he is currently receiving life-sustaining medical treatment.

Rock Hill police said the victim was talking to people in a parked vehicle when one of the people shot the victim, causing him to fall to the ground.

According to officials, the perpetrators then fled the scene and were probably in a gray mid-size SUV.

The Rock Hill Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division is currently investigating this incident.
